NGC 2835: Telescope Live

In this final section a little more noise reduction and some color de-saturation are applied to the image. Look for the final version to be published at AdamBlockPhotos.com .

In this post processing session the HII regions are enhanced by adding a bit of contrast to the Red channel and small structures are also made a little more distinct with MultiMedianTransformation.

Here it is... the blending of the Luminance with the RGB data using LRGB Combination. This is a critical reveal for which success is measured by the sum of all the prior decisions... 

In this section the RGB data is permanently stretched. It is important to monitor the overall brightness and contrast of this image so that it blends with the Luminance data well. In addition it is equally important to remove noise in the color image. This is an area not to be too shy about- the detail comes from the luminance not the chrominance. 

In this lesson we take some creative steps towards enhancing the luminance with HDRMT (using multiple versions). Will the Luminance still end up being too bright? The drama... the suspense! 

PSFImage script is used to generate the synthetic PSF (instead of the standard Dynamic PSF process). It is fun to use. Then with a local support image and a mask the deconvolution is applied. 

Dynamic Background Extraction is applied to the Luminance in the standard way.

In this section Photometric Color Calibration is applied to the RGB data and then DBE is used. 

In this lesson we start combining using Image Integration to create the RGB individual images. MURE Denoise is also used.

This is the first video in the image processing of NGC 2835, a beautiful spiral galaxy. As the sections proceed, the image covers should also improve.
