Thoughts on stretching Barnard 150

Hello,
I am currently working on an LRGB image of Barnard 150 and having some issues with the stretching. Being an area without a large dynamic range, a simple STF>HT would be ok, at least in my initial thought. However, the dark areas in B150 are darker than the remaining sky and I end up with them clipped (and a good contrast in the remaing FOV). If I avoid clipping it, then the remaining FOV does not get any contrast.
I have managed to overcome this by doing a slight MaskedStretch followed by GHS but would it be any other way to handle this? The linear image does not have any clipped pixels.

Thanks!

  • HI,

Can you provide your linear L and RGB images as well as your best attempt at the LRGB finally stretched version you came up with?
