Invalid unlock operation. Preview01 The view is locked for write operations

I am following the tutorial videos from the first one and walking through them by following along.  I am at Quick Start Previews and tried to follow the Preview video and I ran into a problem.  In the video you create a view of your image and then apply a new instance to the preview but I get the above error message.  Not like in the tutorial.  Nothing I can think of to fix the problem. I tried it on several different images and get the same result.

    Hi  Dwight,

    I am not certain how to reproduce this error. I looked on the PI Forum... and this is a common problem when the version of PI has not be updated to the latest and greatest thing. If you have the latest version with all updates- then I think you need to send a note to the PI forum so that the bug can be identified and fixed.

    It is likely you will be asked to reinstall your instance of PI. This isn't a big deal at all.

    I have the latest version with all of the updates.  I have cycled through three different versions with the same problem. Not a good start for trying to learn PI from this video.

    I did not see your message on the PI forum. I will post something for you... 

    But just to be certain I know what you are doing- can you please tell me the time of my video lesson you are encountering the problem? You you "create a view" and "apply an instance"... I am interpreting this as I create a preview and apply a process to it.

    When there is an issue with the software (and the authors or community will know more) the official PI forum is the best place to find the answer.

    I am at the start of your videos, in the quickstart section. My thought was something was skipped over that needed to be done first. 

    The fix was to create a copy of the preview, and then apply the process to the copy.  After doing this a few times PI let me apply the process to the preview without having to use a copy.
