Adam and team,
I wanted to thank you for the hard work put into the Fast Track and Fundamentals courses! I started with 1998 FITS files from a Dwarf II telescope made by Dwarflab. Attached below is the final image of M51 from my workflow made possible by these courses you have provided. I'm also attaching the stacked output of one of the two sessions that acquired the images as an example of raw data. Certainly I can improve many parts of the acquisition and processing, but I'd never have gotten anywhere without the knowledge you gave me. Drizzled 2x with Drop Shrink = 0.75 along with BlurXTerminator and some STF/Histogram work produced the best image I've produced so far.
exposure 13s and 15s x 999 frames, respectively
24 mm diameter lens
binned 2x2 so effective focal length of 50mm instead of physical 100mm
Best wishes,
Dow Hurst
