TSE processing

With the up and coming annular and total solar eclipses, I was wondering if you have entertained the thought of creating a workflow in Pixinsight...if it is even possible? Back in '17 I had to search high and low to find a way to create an HDR image out of my stack taken with my DSLR, and it was with Photoshop. I tried dabbling with the images in PI, but didn't have the slightest clue what to do and there wasn't any guidance on how to process such images. PI is not really renowned for it's prowess in tackling solar image sets, but I wonder if it's power could be harnessed and manipulated to do our bidding for such things? What say you?

  • PI can certainly be used to do some very cool stuff! (I indicated a tiny example in Horizons for the 2017 TSE).
However, an HDR image of many exposures that need to be aligned...that might be tough. BXT and NXT in particular will be invaluable. So... the short answer is yes- but I will likely make the content in real time when I have (hopefully) my own data.
