Obviously there are a lot of discussions to be had about this.

One question that comes to mind is this:  

Will this tool make the issue of OVERSAMPLING less of an issue?

What I mean is, if my typical seeing is 2.1" and using the rule-of-thumb of 1/2-1/3 of the seeing, my pixel scale should be no less than 0.7"/pixel.

Right now, my pixel scale is 0.37"/pixel, so I technically , if I binned 2x2 (0.74"/px) I would see no difference in details in my image.

Will BlurXT change this? Does the rule-of-thumb need to be modified if one uses BlurXT?

Well... I think the way to think if it is to get the best sampling of the light to begin with and processing of any sort proceeds from there. But if you are *always* going to take data binned- use BXT and THEN upsample the image or a larger view- then you might as well take the data 1xx and use BXT. These days the readnoise is so low that if you are a little oversampled or even more oversample.. you are right there isn't a difference. Just basically the question is... how big do you want your final picture to be.
