Debayer Results in Red Dots in image

Greetings,

I am still a novice when it comes to PI.  I recently subscribed to Adam's fastrack.  I just finished the section on image integration and decided to try what I have learned so far to a dataset of M101. I have darks from the same session, but my flats and bias are from February.  I also reviewed some videos but they did not address my issue.  I blinked my darks and they looked good with no red dots that I could find.

I have a Nikon D7100 DSLR and believe the Bayer matrix to be RGGB.  I could not find verification on the Nikon website but the Auto function detected RGGB.  This is what I have done.

  1. Used the format tool to set to RAW extension to "Pure Raw" (clicked the button only)
  2. Used WBPP for only calibration (Subframe Weighting is enabled)
  3. Created the Cosmetic Correction process icon
  4. Ran WBPP (diagnostics reported no issues)
  5. Star Alignment of debayered images (creates registered files)
  6. Image Integration of registered files
I noticed the red dots in the integrated image.  Back tracking resulted in the Debayered files also had them.  The Cosmetic Correction (CC) did not have the dots so I suspected the Debayer process.  I tried some experiments on a single CC image using Auto and RGGB with the same results.  I also tried disabling the noise evaluation and Signal Evaluation options for the heck of it.  No change

as a side, I have become good with blink :)

Any suggestions on what else that i can check?

Thank You,

Rich
