Adam (or anyone else willing to take a look),
I have been trying to identify a glow on the blue and green masters of M31. I shot this LRGB Ha on a Tak FSQ106EDX4 with Chroma filters (ASI6200MM-P). When I try to create an RGB image, I get a "fog" around the core which is mostly composed of blue and green.
I went back and blinked the registered data and can't see any standouts. I ran the data thru the new NSG/LN routine. Still the blue/green fog is present when I create the RGB and then try to bring the color and detail out of the image. I thought maybe a flat was the culprit but I have gone thru each night of data individually and looked for a poorly calibrated set.
The one mistake I made was shooting the RGB at a gain of 100 offest 50 on an ASI6200MM when it should have been at gain 0/50.
Any thoughts on what this is or how to correct it? The data looks like there is a nice M31 hiding in there.
Thanks for looking,
AK
