Star Catalogs

I have just purchased Pixinsight after trying it out for about a month. I also took this Fastrack Course to get me going. I had to delete the trial version and download again. I understand how to download the star catalogs. The file format is staying the same on my desktop xpsd, but on my laptop they are being saved as Acrobat reader file. I don't want to spend the time downloading these if I have to do it over again. Any ideas why my laptop is downloading these as Acrobat files and how might I change this? Thanks

  • Paul,

I do not think your OS is changing the actual file format/name. Your computer is just trying to guess (and fail) as to what computer program to open the files with. So, I think you can ignore this. Unless you tell me differently the file will still be saved at a ***.xpsd file. If this is not true...the Universe will collapse instantly! lol
You can show a screenshot of your file. Sometimes people have their computers NOT SHOW file extensions. You need to change this on your computer to prevent misunderstandings like this (if this is the case).
    Let me know!
