Better Than Expected
I just finished the FastTrack beginner class. I used the provided imagery, but at the same time I used three hours of M31 taken myself a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to see if I could do a better job in PixInsight (trial copy) with some very basic skills than what I self learned at processing DSO over the past 6 months mainly from YouTube videos and my more than 20 years of being a photoshop user. Never got around to trying PixInsight during that time. It seemed a bit too intimidating. Anyway, I have attached M31 processed with my self learned processing skills and the same data processed processed during the FastTrack class and a little help from Photoshop when that was done. I am impressed and will likely continue my training in PixInsight here. The more colorful image was done with PixInsight.
