WBPP Diagnostic: Warning

When running the diagnostics, I get the following warning:
==== Check for long file path limitation
Warning: Cannot create files with a path longer than 256 characters. This is a limitation imposed by the operating system and can cause the failure of one or more steps.
Ensure that you remove this limitation by properly configuring your operating system settings
.
Sorry, I am not a native english speaker and don´t get the message. What do I have to do?
And where will I find the screenshot I generated?

Thank you, Matt.

  • It is possible to have WBPP save a file name (including the path) that is VERY long. Windows has a default maximum limit. You can change this in Windows. Then the warning will go away. You can ignore the warning... but if you even reach the limit WBPP will crash (since it cannot save files). WBPP is doing a real test...so you can trust the message that the limitation is in place.

  • Perfect, Thank you.
Of course I haven´t made it up to the complete WBPP tutorial yet.
Thank you again and best regards,
