Image integration of starless comet with normalization files wont work

I load the starless aligned comet xisf files along with the aligned comet normalization xnml files. when trying to integrate the starless comet shots i get the error: Error: FileFormat: No installed image file format was found for the specified file extension '.xnml' and access conditions

Again.. please SCREENSHOTS! 

My blind guess.. you loaded the XNML files as images. You need to load them separately as local normalization files. You will probably tell me I am wrong... but without an image.. this is my best guess. Again... please try to show what cannot be the issue. In this case the error is saying you loaded XNML files as images. Prove it isn't true... show the screenshot!
