Multiple Displays

I have been working through the excellent instructional videos with a multi-display setup.   I have two large displays flanking my laptop display, with all three being active.   My purpose is to display the videos on one large display while having my copy of Pixinsight open on the other.   My laptop screen is in the middle for auxiliary duty.   My problem is that when I open a process from Pixinsight, instead of opening the control screen in the same display as the software, they open up randomly.   Sometimes on the same display, sometimes hidden behind other windows on another display.   I would certainly prefer not to have to go on a hunting trip for these control panels.   Is this a Pixinsight issue, or a Macintosh OS issue?  I'm running a MacBook Pro M3 with 36 gb of ram and Sonoma OS.   Any help is appreciated.

  • It is a PixInsight issue. The graphics was not written to accommodate all of the various kinds of multiple displays as instantiated with various operating systems.
Basically... PI doesn't like it. You can do it...as long as you understand the behaviors.
(it is possible to "lose" things ...in that they might be displayed in some grid space that isn't actually represented on the monitor. That is a bit confusing...
