@BruceDonzanti
I have now released videos that explain some of what you want with respect to weighting (part of what NSG does) . Normalization is the other facet I need to cover... working on that bit.

Thanks Roger. One of the things I have been spearheading at AIC is to record presentations from the SCREEN as people talk. In another words... similar to video content just like what I do.
So this year we are trying this...and hopefully it will work …
Hi Reggie,
1. No... LOL... this was a while ago. I would need to review the video- but getting technical answers like this is very hard. There is just about ONE person who can answer- and he rarely does.
2. This deals with color space stuff and not …
Something is wrong (in my opinion). The shadow feature on the left side looks like an obstruction. Are you absolutely certain you didn't track into the line of sight of anything (like a wall, a building...etc)? if not... then I think something is ob…
*laugh*Those log files are pretty long! I can't say in advance- you need to read it!I believe you can attach it to your message on this forum.

Oh yes you are correct... 0.25 is an absolutely crazy number and it should match the bias. That ain't right. So unfortunately this is one problem. If you want to continue to poke at your current mystery- you will need to look at the log file that WB…
Hi Chuck,
The button you are looking for is in the MODE menu (not the Preview tools... which is what you have). Under View navigate to toolbars and make the Mode tool bar visible. Then you will see the button I use. The MODE menu is displayed by def…
Yeah... start here and ask some pointed questions like "you said this.. but this is malarky... " LOLOf course I will have to listen to myself again.. but make a small list of questions here and lets see if we can work through some (and maybe benefit…
Reggie,
Before we consider 1 on 1 (which is tough for me right now...I am preparing for AIC among many other things)- did you review my sections on DBE, MLT, and MMT? This way, we are both on the same page with respect to questions.

Reggie,
Since your "arcs" are on spatial sizes that are a small fraction of the frame, it makes sense to use less smoothing (meaning, the samples will be honored with a more aggressive fitting). It also makes sense to use the highest possible tolera…
Hi Richard,
There is nothing wrong with the setup.... but this is after you have already run through WBPP once (since the masters are loaded). My best suggestion- is that you should start from scratch and check everything before you tell WBPP to sta…
In my quick and dirty attempt at this... I used DBE with a tolerance of 10... a smoothing of .1 and 15 samples per row (you can do 20 perhaps). Move any samples on or near stars away.. .shouldn't be too hard. This does take care of a good deal of it…
Hi Benoit,
This is a perennial issue. (People complain about this more commonly with DBE.)The weird background you see in the masked stretch result *is really there all along*. You are just not seeing it easily in the other image. Masked stretched (…
Hi Alan,
When you combine (integrate) multiple frames into a single one- you are attempting to treat each frame as identical after proper normalization and weighting. It is as if you are combining a bunch of frames to get the best measurement (signa…
I think the first thing to do is ask Yannick what he is doing on his AB post. I suspect this is done in Photoshop (and other tools). Note that things in your image that are bright are nearly *dark* in his. So the answer is that he is suppressing the…
