Dave,
You can certainly see the direction I am going by concentrating on the shapes of functions and what they do. This lays the groundwork for explaining GHS in a way that I think is beneficial. I am pretty busy right now...but the path is clear in…
PI can certainly be used to do some very cool stuff! (I indicated a tiny example in Horizons for the 2017 TSE). However, an HDR image of many exposures that need to be aligned...that might be tough. BXT and NXT in particular will be invaluable. So..…
Flats have a bright signal. You are not doing photometry (measuring the light with precision). You just want to get rid of the major issues. Generally a smaller number will be fine.

Andrew,
Based on the comments of others... in all cases the issue is that the file is corrupt. This appears to be an issue on your side with the computer. You might want to regenerate the troubled master dark.

I hope people are aware, I have started to publish videos under the new "Stretch Academy."It should become obvious the way I teach this subject is different... but it should also be obvious why I am choosing to do it this way vis a vis GHS among oth…
Yes, it does make a difference. You will want to calibrate your 1x1 data and then integer resample. The reason is because you cannot resample dark frames (you can do this for calibrated flat field images though). Dark frames record an electronic sign…
FastTrack Training is a workflow.FastTrack Training with WBPP is the full version. The workflows as demonstrated in the Workflow examples are all good as well.(NGC 1333 is the most recent).
Have you had a chance to watch these?

I am adding the stars into a NB image to augment the image because you cannot create true colored stars from NB data alone. I am not adding the stars into the image in order to measure anything or in some way correct the color of anything. I am addi…
No Ray, this is not what I said. You need RGB stars for color calibration of broad band images with respect to a given white point.
For NB images, you can use the Stars (spectral data) to correct for the line strengths at a given emission wavelength.…
Hi Angus,
You need to think about that diagram for a moment... this is a good lesson in understanding things. Look closely at the file you have highlighted.... I will repeat what you just said..it is a MASTER flat...
