Oh... I see.I do not see this behavior with ABE or DBE at all. I manipulated your image... no issues. The values are not changed. There is something else going on.
Nothing is stretched right?

Hi Dan,
It is very difficult for me to check out everyone's images...I get 20 requests a day. :)But I think I have an idea... could you please watch this video? (or confirm you have)

It will slightly enlarge stars... it is a function that smears things a bit more by the interpolation. However, for undersampled data, this is rarely a problem.
And... look at that... just a single picture and I was able to offer a reasonable sugges…
The artifact you are seeing likely comes from the Lanczos interpolation method of StarAlignment. You might cnosider using bicubic b-spline if this disturbs you.

HI Ron,
I simply don't have time to reprocess everyone's data !! LOLI think you need to show me some images of the ringing you are talking about.
Concerning your questions...
1. No. You are supposed to have the 2x2 upsampled to match the Lum. This …
I found a reasonable solution. I would like to use your image as an example. May I have your permission to do so?I plan on publishing the video tomorrow if possible.-the Blockhead
Yes... and THAT explains everything. I knew it.. but I did not want to assume. When you are using narrowband filters the sky will be very dark. So that indeed you will not see a large difference between your dark frame and your light frame.
Please …
UpdateThe big issue with what you are trying to do..is that you are putting higher quality luminance data into lower quality (noisy) Blue data. This might not work out in this particular case.
... still considering it though.

The problem is typically getting Linear Fit to give you a good match of the background. Is this the issue?
Something you might not know... but Photometric Mosaic has a feature that may give you a better result.

It depends, is the answer. It could be perfectly normal. But I also wonder...are you certain you told me everything?(e.g. Are you using any filter?? as is so commonly done)

You need to find out the current resolution of your monitor. In windows you can click on your graphics driver, look in the system info or look under display options. Then you need to crop/resize your image to this dimension (or a multiple of it). Then…
I agree... it is another area to explore.BUT... I would highly recommend exploring the difference between PSF Signal Weight and PSF Scale SNR.I have gone into this extensively... but no one believes me. lolMy argument boils down to signal is more im…
GESD is a bit special. He has a different metric for accounting for values greater than or less than the median. And yes, the number of frames you are selectively rejecting need to be significantly less than the good ones. Otherwise, you should use …
